If you own a car in Minnesota, you need a minimum amount of Minnesota auto insurance. . The minimum amount of property damages liability insurance is $10,000, but like bodily injury liability, you can increase this minimum.

- Uninsured Motorist Insurance
Lastly you are required to have uninsured motorist Minnesota auto insurance. If you are in a accident with a driver who does not have insurance, instead of wasting time and money by taking him to court, to collect for damages, your insurance company covers you for those damages. Your insurance company will then take the uninsured motorist to court, in order to collect money from him.
